Liverpool are set for a major commercial change after confirming a five-year partnership with Turkish Airlines that will see the airline become the club’s main shirt sponsor from June 2027.
The agreement will bring an end to Standard Chartered’s long-running tenure as Liverpool’s principal shirt partner, with Turkish Airlines taking over the front-of-shirt position from the 2027-28 season.
According to Reuters, the financial details of the deal were not disclosed, although media reports have valued the five-year agreement at more than £300 million.
Turkish Airlines’ branding will feature on the front of Liverpool’s men’s, women’s and Academy shirts from the beginning of the 2027-28 campaign.
Standard Chartered, however, will continue its relationship with the club by taking on a global partnership role after the 2026-27 season.
The development ends one of Liverpool’s longest-standing shirt sponsorship arrangements, with Standard Chartered having served as the club’s main shirt partner since 2010.
Liverpool chief commercial officer Ben Latty described the new agreement as a “milestone” for the club while stressing the importance of the front of the iconic red shirt.
“The front of the Liverpool shirt holds a special place in the history of our club,” Latty said, adding that Turkish Airlines’ global reach would provide a strong foundation for the new partnership.
The partnership also has a link to a memorable chapter in Liverpool’s history. The Reds famously won the 2005 Champions League final in Istanbul after overturning a 3-0 deficit against AC Milan before triumphing on penalties.
Turkish Airlines already has a strong presence in football, serving as an official Champions League partner and the main sponsor of the Turkey national team.
If reports of a deal worth more than £300 million prove accurate, the agreement would rank among the Premier League’s most valuable shirt sponsorship deals. Liverpool, however, have yet to officially confirm the reported figure.
Turkish Airlines will officially take over the front-of-shirt position in June 2027, ushering in a new commercial chapter for Liverpool after 17 years with Standard Chartered.
