The mother of late actress Nimmy Ferrari has cried out for help following an alleged dispute over where her daughter should be laid to rest.
In an emotional video making the rounds online, the grieving mother alleged that Nimmy’s father and his family were opposed to her daughter being buried at her own house and were demanding that her remains be exhumed.
According to the woman, the reason for the demand was allegedly connected to plans to sell the property.
She claimed that Nimmy was the only surviving child out of the five children she had with the actress’ father, adding that she single-handedly raised and educated her daughter.
“I gave birth to five children for Nimmy’s dad, and she was our only surviving child. Now, they have killed her too,” she said emotionally.
The bereaved mother further alleged that Nimmy’s father never took responsibility for the actress’ upbringing, claiming that she once suffered an injury after he allegedly attacked her when she asked him to pay her daughter’s school fees.
She also alleged that Nimmy’s father selected the hospital in Abeokuta where the actress underwent surgery before her death.
The woman said she had already given her consent for Nimmy to be buried at her house but claimed her daughter’s father was now insisting that the body be exhumed.
“Please help me. Nimmy’s father’s family does not want her to be buried at her house,” she appealed.
She called on Nigerians to come to her aid, expressing concern that her daughter’s final resting place could become the subject of a family dispute.
The allegations have sparked emotional reactions online, with many Nigerians sympathising with Nimmy’s mother and calling for the matter to be resolved peacefully.
However, the claims made in the viral video have not been independently verified, and the response of Nimmy’s father or his family is yet to be established.
