Nollywood actor Afeez Oyetoro, popularly known as Saka, has recounted a difficult financial decision he made in 1999, revealing that he once rejected a ₦7.5 million endorsement deal from a betting company because it conflicted with his personal beliefs.
Speaking in an interview, the actor said he was deeply religious at the time and regularly spoke out against betting, smoking and alcohol consumption. He explained that accepting the lucrative offer would have contradicted the values he taught his students and could have sent the wrong message to them.
Oyetoro also disclosed that the agent who presented the betting endorsement later approached him with another offer worth ₦5 million for a six-month engagement.
”It’s a six months contract. We moved round the country. After I finished, the handed over the money to me“, he stated.
