A boy reportedly swept away by floodwaters in a rural community in Enugu State has been rescued alive, a day after he went missing.
A viral video shared on Wednesday captured the moment the boy was found and brought to safety, sparking emotional reactions from people at the scene.
A social media user, Uche Nwora, who shared the footage, said the incident happened in Enugu State. However, details about the boy’s identity and how the incident occurred were not immediately known.
Nwora said the boy was rescued a day after he was swept away by the flood.
Eyewitnesses could be heard celebrating and shouting, “Jesus, Igwe, Jesus, Igwe. Hallelyah.”
The incident has once again highlighted concerns over the dangers of flooding, especially in communities affected by heavy rainfall and inadequate drainage.
