Financial hardship has forced a 200-level Mass Communication student of Adamawa State University to abandon his education and relocate to Lagos, where he now works as an agbero.
In a video circulating on social media, the man recounted how he left Adamawa State after he could no longer afford to continue his university education.
“I was a 200L Mass Comm student in ASU. But I couldn’t afford it anymore, so I dropped out and came to Lagos,” he said.
He explained that after arriving in Lagos, he took up agbero work as he struggled to make ends meet.
The man also revealed that his experience in the state has been difficult, saying he has spent about a year sleeping on the streets.
“For one year, I’ve been sleeping on the street,” he added.
His account has generated reactions on social media, with users commenting on the financial challenges that can force young people to abandon their education in search of survival.
The video has also sparked discussions about the difficulties faced by young Nigerians who struggle to fund their education and secure stable livelihoods.
