Family members, friends and prominent Nigerians have gathered in Lagos for the funeral service of late veteran actor Olu Jacobs.
The service is taking place on Friday at This Present House, Freedom Way, Lekki Phase I, where loved ones have assembled to pay their final respects to the celebrated Nollywood actor.
A live feed from Lufodo Productions showed Jacobs’ wife, actress Joke Silva, and their sons, Olusoji and Olugbenga, attending the ceremony dressed in blue.
The late actor’s casket, decorated with flowers, was placed at the front of the church as the funeral mass commenced.
Among the dignitaries at the ceremony are Lagos State First Lady, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and his wife, Oluremi Hamzat; former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun; and former Ekiti State First Lady, Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi.
Jacobs, whose full name was Oludotun Baiyewun Jacobs, died on September 16, 2026, aged 84.
His funeral comes after a Night of Tributes held on Wednesday at Glover Memorial Hall, Marina, Lagos Island, where family, colleagues and admirers celebrated his life and career.
Those attending Friday’s service were asked to dress in shades of green.
A private burial ceremony is scheduled to take place after the funeral service.
