[TRENDING VIDEO] “Don’t sell to police officers on credit, lend them money at your own peril” — CP warns Nigerians
A Commissioner of Police has warned residents against selling goods on credit or lending money to police officers, saying such transactions could put them at risk of losing their money.
The CP gave the warning while addressing residents, urging them to avoid giving police personnel goods or cash on credit.
According to him, residents should not enter into credit arrangements with officers, advising those in need of loans to approach banks instead.
“Selling something on credit to Nigerian police officers or lending them money is at your own peril. Don’t sell anything to them on credit or lend them money. They should go to the bank and borrow,” the CP said.
The warning has sparked reactions, with some Nigerians questioning the circumstances that led to the police commissioner issuing such advice.
