The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old man, Abdulrazak Sale Kundang, also known as “Abba Sale Police”, over alleged criminal conspiracy and murder in Karofin Madaki, Bauchi metropolis.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.

Habib said operatives of the ‘A’ Division, Township, apprehended Kundang on Monday, October 5, 2026, following credible information provided by a Good Samaritan.

He said the suspect had been on the run for three months following the alleged killing of 46-year-old Rilwanu Dauda of Karofi on July 5, 2026.

According to the police, Dauda was allegedly attacked and stabbed with a knife by Kundang and other members of his gang at about 9:30am.

“The victim was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where he was certified dead by a medical doctor at about 1100hrs of the same day,” the PPRO stated.

Following the incident, the command intensified efforts to locate the fleeing suspects and placed them on its watchlist.

Habib added that the suspects had previously been linked to a politically motivated murder in the same area before going into hiding.

He said, “Acting on credible intelligence from a Good Samaritan, operatives attached to ‘A’ Division, Township, swung into action and on 5th October, 2026, exactly three months after the heinous crime, successfully arrested the principal suspect, Abdulrazak Sale Kundang.”

The police spokesperson said efforts were ongoing to apprehend the other alleged accomplices who remain at large.

The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the operatives for their professionalism and determination.

The commissioner warned that “no criminal will have a hiding place in Bauchi State.”

He also ordered a thorough investigation into the case and directed that the suspect be charged to court.
