England cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Czechia at Wembley as Harry Kane marked his record-equalling appearance with a starring performance in the Nations League.

Kane made his 125th appearance for the Three Lions, matching Peter Shilton as England’s joint-most-capped player, and celebrated the milestone by contributing to all three goals.

England dominated from the outset but needed 27 minutes to break the deadlock. Kane delivered a dangerous cross towards Eberechi Eze, but Vladimir Coufal failed to read the situation and inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.

The hosts doubled their advantage 13 minutes later through Kane. Elliot Anderson produced an excellent pass over the Czech defence for Morgan Rogers, who cleverly cushioned the ball into Kane’s path before the captain calmly finished.

Kane nearly completed his hat-trick shortly after the restart when his curling effort struck the crossbar, but he soon found the net again, heading home unmarked from Lewis Hall’s corner in the 57th minute.

Thomas Tuchel later introduced several fringe players, including Rio Ngumoha, who became the second-youngest player to represent England at Wembley at 18 years and 38 days, behind Jude Bellingham.

Czechia struggled to threaten England throughout the contest, with Roman Macek’s long-range effort among their few notable chances.

The result moved England to nine points in Nations League Group A3, three behind leaders Spain.

Another record-breaking night for Kane

Kane has now scored at least twice in six different England matches at Wembley, moving ahead of Alan Shearer’s previous record of five.

The 33-year-old has also scored two or more goals in 18 separate matches for England, another national-team record.

Kane is additionally the oldest England player to score a brace in consecutive appearances, achieving the feat at 33 years and 70 days.

His 13 goals in 2026 are the second-most by an England player in a calendar year, behind his own tally of 16 in 2021. His total also leads all European players this year, putting him ahead of France’s Kylian Mbappé on 12.

England created chances worth 1.83 expected goals while restricting Czechia to just five shots worth a combined 0.17 xG.

The Three Lions now need only one point from their final two matches to join Spain in the quarter-finals, while Czechia have suffered five consecutive defeats.
