ARISE News has removed political analyst Anthony Kila from its programmes amid allegations surrounding the authenticity of his academic qualifications.
The broadcaster’s decision came after an investigation by Premium Times questioned Kila’s professorial status and identified alleged inconsistencies in his academic background, including his undergraduate, master’s and doctoral qualifications.
In a statement published on its official X account on Tuesday, the network disclosed that it had reached out to Kila on October 3, 2026, seeking his response to the allegations.
According to ARISE News, Kila asked for additional time to address the claims but had not provided a response 10 days after being contacted.
“Following claims that Anthony Kila falsified his entire academic credentials, we contacted Mr Kila on 03 October, 2026 with the allegations. He asked for more time to respond to the claims. He has not responded 10 days after,” the statement read.
The station said the seriousness of the allegations informed its decision to discontinue his appearances across all its platforms, both now and in the future.
ARISE News also explained that it had no knowledge of the controversy when Kila previously appeared on its programmes as a freelance political analyst.
“ARISE News was unaware of these allegations at the time Anthony Kila appeared on our platform and as we take matters of credibility and integrity extremely seriously,” the statement added.
