[TRENDING VIDEO] “Staff are left feeling unsafe,” outrage trails as Emmanuel Emenike alleges attack on his Imo state hospital

Social media has been buzzing following reports that Emenike Hospital in Imo State was raided on October 21, 2026, by individuals claiming to be police and state waste agency members.

According to Emmanuel Emenike’s statement, the attackers assaulted staff, detained the administrator and cashier, and frightened patients. Videos of the incident show a van marked “Office of the Governor Monitoring/Compliance (Anti Vandals)” parked nearby, following a previous police entry on September 25 amid scrutiny after Emenike criticized state corruption.

Reflecting on his mission and the shocking turn of events, Emmanuel Emenike stated, “After representing my dear country on the international stage, playing in Europe and celebrating the trophy of winning the Africa Cup of Nations, I chose to bring my experience and success home to Imo State. I invested in my community and built a hospital, a place where people could seek care, find comfort and hold on to hope. It was a gesture of faith in my people and a commitment to helping my home state thrive. That is why the reports of what happened today, 21st October, 2026, at Emenike Hospital are so painful. A place built to care for people should never become a place where patients are afraid and staff are left feeling unsafe.”

The 40-bed facility, which opened in 2024, represents a major personal investment in local healthcare, leaving many observers questioning the impact on private investment in Imo State as Emenike calls for an impartial probe, staff release, and evidence preservation.
