Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni has agreed to a new contract that will keep him in charge of the national team until 2030, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano reported that Scaloni had accepted the proposal submitted to him in September, with the remaining details now being finalised before the agreement is signed.

“The proposal sent in September has been accepted, details being sorted then time to sign.

Scaloni said yes.”

The agreement would see the 48-year-old continue leading Argentina through the 2030 FIFA World Cup cycle, extending his tenure with the reigning world champions.
