The flashy spectacle took place amidst severe power shortages and persistent grid failures across Lagos, leaving residents frustrated by the stark contrast.

Prominent figures like Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and Pat Utomi publicly criticized the display, highlighting the misplaced priorities of spending millions on campaign stunts while citizens grapple with poor electricity, heavy traffic, and daily hardships.
