Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, on completing 20 years on the throne.

The governor, in a congratulatory message released on Monday through his spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, praised the Sultan for his contributions to promoting Islamic values, fostering interfaith relations and encouraging dialogue among people of diverse backgrounds.

Yusuf described the Sultan’s leadership as a source of guidance to the Muslim Ummah, noting his efforts towards promoting peace, unity and national stability.

“Sultan’s leadership has continued to provide guidance to the Muslim Ummah and contribute to efforts to promote peace, unity and stability across the country,” he said.

The governor prayed for Allah’s continued blessings upon the Sultan, asking for good health, wisdom and strength as he continues his service to Islam, the Muslim community and Nigeria.

He also described the anniversary as an opportunity to recognise the Sultan’s contributions to religious leadership, national unity and peaceful coexistence.

Yusuf further wished him many more years of fruitful leadership, expressing hope that his reign would continue to bring peace, prosperity and blessings to the country.

The Sultan, who serves as the President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), ascended the throne in 2006.
