JAMB extends 2026 DE registration deadline, adds new centres

In a clear step to broaden access to higher education, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has prolonged the sale of 2026 Direct Entry (DE) application forms until May 8, allowing prospective candidates extra time to finish their registration.

In a statement issued by its communication advisor, Fabian Benjamin, the Board explained that the extension forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure that no eligible applicant is excluded from the admission process.

It also revealed the approval of five new registration centres to ease growing demand and improve accessibility in strategic locations.

The newly approved centres are the Centre for Open and Distance Learning (CODL), Mini Campus, University of Ilorin, Kwara State; Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State; Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State; Prof. Usman E-Learning Centre, Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, Oyo State; and Human Development Initiatives (Grace House), Iwaya, Lagos, which will begin operations on April 30, 2026.

JAMB assured candidates that its offices across the country, including Professional Registration Centres (PRCs) and Professional Testing Centres (PTCs), are still open to support smooth registration.

In the statement, JAMB reaffirmed its dedication to widening access to tertiary education and encouraged prospective candidates to make use of the extended deadline to complete their applications.
