I practise juju for progress, not harm — Saheed Osupa

Fuji musician Saheed Osupa has openly acknowledged practising juju as part of his career, stressing that it is harmless and aimed only at personal advancement.

Speaking during a performance at the 52nd anniversary celebration of veteran actor Fatai Odua on March 30, 2026, Osupa rejected suggestions that he should deny such practices, choosing instead to be open about them.

“Somebody told me one time to grant an interview denying that I’m a fetish person, but I told him that I am. I didn’t kill anyone with my juju or commit evil. I am only looking for how to progress. Nothing more,” he said.

The singer further disclosed that his spiritual routine is a regular part of his daily life.

“That’s why anytime I wake, I always pay obeisance to my Ifa. Everybody practises voodoo. While some hide behind the scenes, I do mine in the open. All those talks that I rely solely on the Bible and Quran are pure lies,” he added.

In videos circulating online, Osupa was also seen advising his backup singers to embrace similar practices to enhance their memory and stage performance, emphasising that such rituals are for well-being and do not make one fetish.
