‘No celebrity has ever paid me for promotional work’ – Don Jazzy

Music executive Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has refuted claims that he charges artists and filmmakers for promotional support.

The Mavin Records founder made the clarification on X while reacting to a comedy skit by actor Itele.

In the skit, Itele jokingly portrayed himself tying Don Jazzy up and compelling him to promote his forthcoming movie, Black Market.

Following the video, an X user, Oba Tao Oshomo, stated that the endorsement was paid for.

“Don Jazzy fit do anything for money,” he wrote.

Don Jazzy dismissed the claim, “Nobody in the entertainment space has ever paid me a dime for promo oo. You think say I be don for mouth. The Don’s blessings na free bro,” he wrote.

‘Black Market’ is a Nollywood production seeking to set a Guinness World Records title for the largest film screening in a single location.

The film is produced by Rixel Studios in partnership with FilmOne Studios, Signet Ring Studios and Switch Visuals Production.

According to the producers, the premiere is scheduled for September 26 at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, with a target of 50,000 attendees.

The goal is to surpass the current record of more than 43,000 people watching a film at one venue.
