‘Stop escalating our issues… it’s putting Natasha at risk,’ 2Baba calls for calm as marital crisis deepens

The Nigerian singer popularly known as 2Baba, Innocent Idibia, has spoken out regarding the ongoing marital crisis involving his wife Natasha Osawaru.

A plea carrying the stark message “help me” was first posted on the singer’s Instagram Story on Wednesday.

The plea was later followed by a video in which the 50-year-old artiste urged calm.

He appealed to his followers and the public not to escalate the marital situation because it “is putting Natasha at risk”.

2Baba reassured that he and Natasha would resolve their issues, insisting he did not make the post calling for help.

“This is getting out of hand, and it is a dangerous situation right now,” he said.

“I know what fans can do, I know what people can do, I am perfectly okay. This is putting Natasha at risk; it is not fair to anybody.

“Please, I need everybody to calm down, ceasefire. We are going to resolve all these issues. People dey get issue for house no be today, but this is getting out of hand.

“Friends, family, everybody, please, ceasefire. I beg you. I am perfectly fine. I did not make that post. Please, I am okay.”

The controversy emerged from a live session on Monday hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze, which turned chaotic after the singer and the Edo lawmaker engaged in a heated argument in the background.

The clash followed allegations made against Natasha by the singer’s former management team.

2Baba’s former managers Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, who were guests on Freeze’s live session, accused Natasha of seeking “full control” over the singer’s life and career.

They described her as prone to “fits of rage” and confirmed that an earlier denied arrest incident involving the couple in the United Kingdom did occur.

The former managers also alleged that Natasha manages 2Baba’s finances and public affairs, insisting the artiste needed to be “saved” from her influence.

The situation escalated when 2Baba abruptly joined the live session, telling his former managers to “shut the f**k up” and stop discussing his personal life.

Moments later, loud arguing between him and Natasha became audible off-camera, with their voices rising before the live broadcast ended abruptly.

The Edo house of assembly recently invited Osawaru, member representing Egor constituency, to appear before its ethics and privileges committee over her viral conduct.

The couple’s relationship became public shortly after 2Baba announced his separation from his estranged wife Annie Macaulay Idibia in January.

At the time, he clarified that his relationship with the Edo lawmaker was not connected to the breakup.

The singer proposed to Osawaru in February.

Their relationship gained family approval in April when Natasha visited Rose, 2Baba’s mother, who had previously spoken against the union. The couple tied the knot in July.
