Tonto Dikeh drops ‘King’ title, embraces evangelist calling

Tonto Dikeh has revealed a significant personal and spiritual shift, announcing that she no longer wants to be called “King Tonto Dikeh.”

In a video posted on her Instagram page on Monday, the Nollywood actress and philanthropist explained that the decision was made in obedience to the Holy Spirit and signals the start of a new phase in her journey.

“In obedience to the Holy Spirit, I will no longer be addressed as ‘King Tonto Dikeh.’ You can call me ‘The Woman of God,’ ‘Evangelist Tonto.’ I’m going from a mess to a message,” she stated.

She expressed happiness about making the announcement on March 1, describing the date as symbolic and aligned with what she believes is God’s prophecy for her life.

“I want to make this declaration, and it gladdens my heart that I can do this on the first day of March. It just aligns with the prophecy of God upon my life, that He is marching me away from everything that is past, and marching me into the prophecies of the new morning,” she said.

According to Dikeh, the change reflects spiritual growth and divine guidance.

“His joy, His peace and His authority keep aligning with me. As such, I will not be addressed as King Tonto Dikeh. You can call me the woman of God. You can call me Lady Evangelist Tonto Dikeh. You can call me Tonto Dikeh, but I will not want to be addressed as King Tonto Dikeh. This is the direction of the Holy Spirit,” she added.

She stressed that the shift is more than a superficial rebrand, noting that it is rooted in faith and obedience, marking what she described as a transition “from a mess to a message.”

It will be recalled that she adopted the title “King Tonto” years ago as part of a bold personal rebranding, often using the term metaphorically to reflect strength and authority. Over time, the name became a defining part of her identity in entertainment and social media spaces.
