[TRENDING VIDEO] Mixed reactions trail video of ‘luxurious Abuja mansion’ allegedly to Senator Kenneth Eze

A video posted on June 30 has sparked widespread debate after showing a luxurious mansion in Abuja that some social media users identified as belonging to Senator Kenneth Emeka Eze, the lawmaker representing Ebonyi Central and chairman of a Senate committee.

The footage, which quickly went viral online, shows an expansive property with lavish architecture and luxury fittings, prompting questions about the source of such wealth amid Nigeria’s economic hardship and rising cost of living.

Critics, citing Nigeria’s nearly 30 per cent inflation rate, questioned how public office holders are able to afford such opulence, with some estimates placing the property’s value at over ₦4.7 billion. Others, however, argued that Eze had an established business background before entering politics and cautioned against rushing to conclusions.

Senator Eze has neither confirmed nor denied ownership of the mansion, further fuelling public debate and renewed calls for greater transparency and stricter asset declaration among public officials.

Here are some of the reactions:

Képhä (papi_demillie): I know it’s quick to start tagging the supposedly said senator as someone who embezzled public funds. Guess what? Some guys were wealthy before they took public office. We are too quick to judge people without knowing them. So are we saying every political office holder in Nigeria is a thief?

Taiwo_junzi (taiwo_junzi): Nigerians will one day choose better for themselves or perpetually suffer in abject poverty and gnashing of teeth.

Ahmad Nguru (AhmadUsm…): As I said, there are kind of vanities that are exclusive to third world elites.

KlintonCod (klintoncod): A Nigerian senator owns this?? This is why Nigerian leaders are the luckiest on earth. Citizens just too mumu. Olodo country.

Don Jay of Arsenal (Donj…): This is your money btw. Tax payers money. They are flaunting it right in front of you and we are here praising them. They’re mocking you and you’re defending them. Nobody fit Mumu pass Nigerians Walahi.

SelflessDuke ✈️🌍 (Da…): If not greed. Even devil will be shocked to be in such a house built with stolen money. These guys are heartless!

Mr Imbuya (Imbuya_media): And that’s just one senator. Just one of his own houses… It’s fair to say the Nigerian government is not serving the people, rather the people and their money are serving the government and politicians.

FELIX (DESIGN_LIX): We are not serious in this country. A politician cannot openly own something like this in the US. Here they brazenly flaunt the proceeds of their corruptions in our eyes; like nothing una papa wan do.

CHINEDU (chinedumbah45): Look at the common wealth of the masses crying for help in the hands of these criminal politicians 😭😭

shakur🥑 (waveyong_): I think it comes down to culture. You hardly see private buildings like this in USA or even Europe. Here in Africa, an average black man wants the world to see how rich and wealthy he is, hence building a home like this one.

Person Pikin (Anthony_Uwa…): Nigerians are a politician’s best dream turned into reality.

SmartNG (SmartNGmdl6): Money to use develop community only one man use am build house, what a people.

N.O.O.R (temitope4221457): Na that bird sound make me know say na Nigeria. Omo na wa o.
