Abiodun, Sultan, Ooni in attendance as Makinde presents staff of office to 43rd Olubadan

A new Olubadan of Ibadan (the 43rd), Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin has been crowned.

The coronation ceremony was held on Friday at the Labosinde compound, the family whose right it is to crown any Olubadan.

Oba Olakuleyin immediately moved to Ile Osemeji at Oja Oba area of the city after his crowning as the new Olubadan.

Ile Osemeji is regarded as the place where the divination on the future of Ibadan was revealed.

In March, Olalekan Balogun, the 42nd Olubadan, died at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital. He was 81 years old.

Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo state, presented the staff of office to the new Olubadan at an event attended by personalities from across the country.

Muhammad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto; Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife; Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun state; and Adebayo Adelabu, minister of power, were among the dignitaries that attended the coronation.
