Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Dapo Abiodun, business mogul and chairman of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, and several other prominent Nigerians have extolled the virtues of Ogun State monarch, the Olu of Itori of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Oba Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo, who clocked 60 on Thursday.
Obasanjo, in a statement made available by the Director of media and corporate affairs to the Palace of the Olu of Itori, Prince Yomi Gbadebo, said: “Kabiyesi, your reign over Itori Egbaland has witnessed notable growth, progress, development, peace and stability” thus praying for the continued good health and long life for the monarch.
Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, in his congratulatory message to the monarch commended him for bringing ”elegance and pride” to Itori throne. “Furthermore, your reign continues to attract and witness significant social economic transformation of your domain, with positive impact on our dear state in general,” he said.
Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, described the monarch as a royal father, who is committed to building a strong, united and prosperous community, and of course its people. ”I commend your solid contributions over time in pursuit of these laudable objectives. Your life has been marked with a determination to promote unity among people particularly on issues affecting the community,” said Hamza.
Dangote Group chariman, Dangote, in a letter of congratulations expressed ”profound gratitude for the splendid support” the monarch provided Dangote Industries in its expansion activities and investment drive in those locations under the monarch’s domain.
“Your understanding and cooperation makes us vital partners, and we on our part, will continue to support you to achieve your noble roles and objectives,” said Dangote.
The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Lagos monarch and a close ally of the Olu of Itori, His Royal Majesty,Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Olu of Ilaro and Paramount ruler of Yewaland, His Majesty, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, His Imperial Majesty, Iku Baba Yeye, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi lll, The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty , Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ooni of Ife, among other prominent Nigerians also congratulated the monarch.
