National president, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi, on Tuesday, said the 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced the sales of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), popularly known as diesel, Nigerian Tribune reports.

Maigandi added that the company has also pegged a minimum of one million litres of diesel per marketer. This means that a marketer cannot buy more than one million litres.

He said, “The least volume a marketer can buy is one million litres.”

Maigandi disclosed to Nigerian Tribune over the telephone that IPMAN is planning to have a meeting with the management of Dangote Petroleum Refinery to increase allocation to marketers.

He said the current price of diesel per litre is N1,250, but that further discussion with Dangote Refinery is to see how to reduce the price for marketers.

Efforts to confirm this from the company proved abortive as the Chief Communications Officer, Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, did not respond to the text message and phone calls made to his mobile phone number.
