The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has praised Dangote Refinery for reducing the price of petrol to ₦899.50 per litre.
In a statement on Thursday, PETROAN spokesman Joseph Obele described the reduction as a significant relief for motorists and Nigerians, particularly during the holiday season.
“This price reduction, a decrease of ₦71 per litre from the initial price of ₦970, is a significant relief for motorists and Nigerians at large, especially during the holiday season,” PETROAN stated.
PETROAN President, Billy Gillis-Harry, added that the move would help alleviate the suffering of Nigerians and reduce the cost of living during the festive period.
Earlier, Dangote Refinery confirmed the new price adjustment, stating that it aims to ease transport costs for Nigerians during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
In addition, the refinery announced an innovative offer, allowing consumers to purchase an additional litre of petrol on credit for every litre bought with cash, backed by guarantees from selected banks.
This marks another reduction following the November adjustment when the price was lowered to ₦970 per litre.
