Dangote Petroleum Refinery has validated the registration of oil marketers as distributors.
On Tuesday, Dangote Group announced that it has registered three groups of Nigerian oil merchants.
In a statement on its X on Tuesday, the Dangote Group described the marketers as members of the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria, Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria, and Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria.
“Three prominent associations, that constitute 75 per cent of the total market in Nigeria have been registered.
“The Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, and the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria,” the post read.
Dangote Group said it was still “considering other marketers that have signified interest” to be partner with the refinery.
Newslick Nigeria reported earlier that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery commenced the production of diesel and aviation fuel on January 12, 2023.
It was also reported that MOMAN and IPMAN had registered to be marketers of the products from the private refinery across the nation.
However, the Dangote Group has yet to disclose when the products would be available in the market, and neither has it disclosed when it would commence the production of Premium Motor Spirit.
