Nigeria Air has received approval from the Federal Executive Council to lease aircraft and begin operations.

Mr Hadi Sirika, the Minister of Aviation, made the announcement after a council meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.

The Minister, who did not specify when the national carrier would begin operations, stated that the company would begin with three planes.

He went on to say that Nigeria Air is open to investment from any of the country’s airlines.
