FIC, CIBN kick off Agency Banking Certification Programme for POS operators, Bank agents, others

The Financial Inclusion Centers (FIC) and  Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, CIBN had its flag off training session of Agency Banking Certification Programme on February 1, 2024. 

The training was attended by Financial service agents and institutions, NIN agents, Banks, BVN agents, POS operators and many more.

FIC Professional  Network PLC is a stakeholder company that engage in financial inclusion activity that cuts across industries, individuals more importantly getting to the community which are financially excluded which deals with  knowledge based and empowerment.

The Ag. Managing Director of FIC Professionals, Mrs Rofiat Onitiri in a chat with Newsclick Nigeria highlighted how the Agency Banking Certification Programme will impact the banking industry.

“We have financial training for you to know what we are going into, the KYC [Know your customers] all the things they need to look out for when they are dealing with people, laws and regulations covering you as an operator” she said.

She also asserts that the certification programmes will separate the POS operators, agents and all participants from every dick, tom and harry because the Central Bank is involved.

Onitiri assured that the ceritication programme id going to be  periodical because of the level of the people they are dealing with.
