Innoson saga: ‘Reports of massive withdrawals, closure of accounts in GTBank false,’ says bank

The management of Guaranty Trust Bank plc (GTBank) on Thursday reacted to news making the rounds that loyal customers of the bank are beginning to close their accounts and also make massive withdrawals due to the raging war between the bank and the founder/chairman of Innoson Technical Manufacturing Company, Enugu, Chief Innocent Chukwuma.

The bank, in a statement it issued on the endless controversies generated especially since the recent arrest and release of Innoson by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), maintained that reports of massive withdrawals and closure of accounts by loyal clients was false and misleading.

The bank’s reaction was posted on its social media handles on Thursday.
