HSBC has evacuated part of its UK headquarters in the Canary Wharf financial district in London over fears an employee has contracted coronavirus.

According to reports, a worker in the bank’s research department tested positive for the deadly virus.

The department was cleared this morning and will now undergo a deep cleansing, reports said.

One tweet said the evacuation did not affect traders on the 4th floor of the building as the affected department is on the 10th floor.
