NCAA to sanction errant Airlines for flight delays

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is urging aviation passengers to become better informed about the challenges they may encounter when travelling through airports.

Michael Achimugu, Head of Consumer Protection at the NCAA, made this appeal on Saturday during a road walk in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.

He emphasised that this is a peak travel season, and many travellers need to be adequately educated on the causes of delays and the potential solutions to these issues.

“We are currently in the high travel season in aviation, and as you know, there have been numerous flight disruptions and complaints,” Achimugu explained.

“Our role at the NCAA is to educate passengers because, in most cases, complaints about these disruptions stem from a lack of understanding of their rights and responsibilities as air passengers. We must safeguard both the passenger and the airline.”
