Access Bank has refuted allegations that ₦500 million is missing from a customer’s account.

In a statement released on its social media platforms on Sunday, the bank asserted that it neither engages in nor condones unethical practices.

The allegations stemmed from a viral video shared by social media influencer Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, who accused the bank of sharp practices involving the account of a deceased customer, allegedly amounting to ₦500 million.

In response, Access Bank stated: “Our attention has been drawn to a video on social media wherein allegations of missing funds and unethical behaviour have been made against Access Bank Plc.

“We and other independent stakeholders in the banking industry have thoroughly investigated these allegations and independently arrived at the same conclusions. Access Bank Plc operates with the highest ethical standards and remains committed to protecting our customers’ interests whilst also respecting privacy laws.”

The bank also urged the public to disregard sensational and unverified claims, advising against relying on unsubstantiated reports.
