Otedola buys N14.8bn worth of First HoldCo shares, raises stake beyond 18%

The chairman of First HoldCo Plc, Femi Otedola, has boosted his shareholding in the financial holding company after purchasing additional shares valued at N14.8 billion, pushing his stake beyond 18 percent.

The transaction was made public in a disclosure signed by Abiola Baruwa, the group company secretary, and submitted to the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) on Thursday.

According to the filing, the shares were acquired through Calvados Global Services Limited, an investment vehicle linked to the billionaire investor.

The notice revealed that Otedola bought 369,986,122 units of First HoldCo shares at N40.06 per share on December 18.

Earlier, on September 25, 2025, Otedola had also increased his interest in the company by acquiring 64.87 million shares worth N2.01 billion.

At the time, First Bank of Nigeria Holdings announced that the chairman purchased 39.3 million shares directly on September 23 for N1.2 billion.

On the same day, he further obtained 25.6 million shares indirectly, valued at N793.6 million, through Calvados.

That transaction raised Otedola’s stake in First HoldCo to 16.1 percent, up from 13.15 percent as of September 2024.
