#TUNSFARMS Looting, Murder: Osun Police Command Arraigns, remands three in Prison

The Osun State Police Command has arraigned three suspected looters at the Magistrate Court, Osogbo. The three suspected looters who were also fingered as being responsible for murder of a staff of Tuns have been remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre. Other suspects are still under investigation.

The accused suspects were; Aishat Mutiu {female}, Oyewale Segun {male} and Ijaye Shola {male}

The accused were charged to court over their alleged involvement in the destructive invasion, vandalism, robbing, looting and murder of one Olawale Rasheed at Tuns Farms Nigeria Limited on 24th October, 2020.

The suspects appeared before Magistrates Awodele M.O on Monday 9th November, 2020

The trio allegedly committed the offence on October 24, 2020, around 8:00 am at Tuns Farms Nigeria Limited, Osogbo, Osun State.

The Police Prosecutor, ASP John Idoko told the court that the accused persons and others still at large conspired among themselves to commit a felony to wit armed robbery and murder.

He said the accused persons armed themselves with cutlasses, iron rods, sticks, guns and other dangerous weapons, invaded and subsequently robbed Tuns International Holdings Company (Tuns Farms) and carted away assorted factory equipments – computers, laptops, finished goods, raw materials, gas cylinders, popcorn machines, chemicals, materials and other valuables.

The offence committed is contrary to and punishable under Section 1(1) and section 1(1)(2)(a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special provisions) Act Cap R|| Vol.14 Laws of Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

When the count charges were read to the accused persons, they pleaded not guilty.

Their defence counsel Awokunle requested for the adjournment.

Magistrate Modupe Awodele transferred the case to Osogbo Magistrates Court 3 to be heard on December 9, 2020.

The Magistrate thereafter remanded the accused persons at Ilesa Correctional Centre till next adjourned date.
