UBA to Pay Shareholders 17 Kobo Interim Dividend September 23
The board of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has fixed Wednesday, September 23, 2020, as the payment date for the interim dividend recommended on Tuesday.
Yesterday, the financial institution proposed the payment of 17 kobo per share to investors for the half-year ended June 30, 2020.
In a notice today, the company said this cash reward would be paid to shareholders who names appear on the register of members at the close of business on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.
“An interim dividend of N0.17 for every ordinary share of 50 kobo each, subject to applicable withholding tax, will be paid to shareholders whose names appear in the register of members as at the close of business on Tuesday, September 15, 2020,” a part of the disclosure from UBA said.
The lender stated that after the qualification date, the bank’s register of members will be closed on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, to enable the registrars to prepare for payment of interim dividend.
It was disclosed after this process, the registrar, Africa Prudential Plc, will make the payment electronically to shareholders “who have completed the e-dividend registration and mandated the registrar to pay their dividends directly into their bank accounts.”
On Tuesday, UBA announced its financial status to the investing public and the organisation recorded a 22 per cent decline in profit after tax.
Also, the 17 kobo dividend proposed by the company was 15 per cent lower than the 20 kobo declared in the same period of last year.
