Officials of the Federal Competition and Consumer and Protection Commission (FCCPC) on Monday stormed and sealed up an Abuja-based Chinese supermarket situated at the China General Chamber of Commerce.
The Chinese supermarket had on Sunday come under fire after a Nigerian man was denied entry, with the management reportedly citing restrictions on Nigerian customers.
In a viral footage, the unidentified Nigerian man can be seen expressing his frustration and shock as he is turned away at the supermarket entrance.

The management reportedly cited restrictions on Nigerian customers, prompting the man to voice his dismay at the discriminatory treatment.
In his statement captured in the video, the man lamented the situation, noting the inconvenience of having to seek out alternative shopping venues despite his interest in exploring Chinese cuisine and products.
The video has sparked a wave of criticism, with many condemning the actions of the supermarket management and calling on the Federal Government to sanction management of the supermarket.
However, in a swift move on Monday, the FCCPC officials shut the supermarket after interrogating Nigerian workers working there.
Earlier on Sunday, Nigerians had expressed outrage over a discriminatory policy implemented by the Chinese Supermarket which restricted entry exclusively to its citizens and barred Nigerians.
The facility manager of the complex Shaibu Sanusi confirmed that Nigerians from outside the complex do not shop but Nigerians within can access it.
Owner on the run
Meanwhile, the workers at the facility said the owner of the supermarket has fled the premises.
The workers — mostly Nigerians — stated this on Monday when the officials of the Federal Competition and Consumer and Protection Commission (FCCPC) stormed the supermarket.
The workers said that the owner of the supermarket, a Chinese lady, Cindy Liu Bei, fled on Monday morning at 8:26am with her family as confirmed on the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) camera.
The FCCPC officials subsequently shut the supermarket.
