Rukevwe George, a 23-year-old secondary school dropout, has been detained by Edo State Police Command officers for allegedly possessing guns.

Rukevwe was detained in Benin, the state capital.

The suspect who attended Baptist Medical Center Secondary School, Eku, Delta State, was arrested with one automatic foreign-made double barrel gun and one locally-made single-barrel gun.

In an interview with the press, Rukevwe, dressed in military camouflage, said that the guns belonged to his master, Ralph, who is currently on the run.

Rukevwe, on the other hand, was unable to explain how he acquired the military uniform.

The State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, who paraded him among other criminals, revealed that there has been an increase in criminal activity in the state in recent years.

According to him, queries were directed at Rukevwe, and a search was thereafter conducted, resulting in the recovery of the two gums.

“He accepted that the person who housed him had handed him the two firearms. Our operatives are on the trail of the suspect, and the long arm of the law will soon catch up with him.

“He has yet to provide a satisfactory explanation for what he does in military camouflage.”

“But, we know that this is the kind of people that will disguise and you think he is a military personnel, and he use it to commit some unimaginable crimes under whatever guise,” he said.

However, the Edo Chief of Police vowed that the fleeing culprit will be apprehended and prosecuted alongside his brother.
