Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, the Amotekun Corps, have taken a 19-year-old suspected motorcycle-border armed robber, identified as Oyediran Ayomide, into custody during the ongoing Ember border security operation known as Operation Le Won Jade.
The suspect, originally from Kwara State, was arrested in Ore after he allegedly used a sledgehammer to assault a commercial motorcycle rider and escaped with the victim’s bike.
Confirming the development, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Superintendent Jimoh Adeniken, said the suspect had been a long-time menace to motorcycle operators across Ondo State before his capture.
Adeniken explained that the young man has since been transferred to the Kwara State Local Government Security Initiative for further investigation and prosecution.
He added that the suspect confessed to the act, stating he intended to use the stolen motorcycle for commercial transport activities in Ore.
