Fleeing Abuja N55m Benz thief apprehended in Edo

Meshach Sinuphro, a suspect in the theft of a Mercedes Benz worth N55 million from a car dealer in the Federal Capital Territory last Wednesday, has been apprehended by the Edo State Police Command’s Decoy Squad.

In a tweet on Thursday, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Bright Edafe stated Sinuphro was apprehended in Benin City, Edo State.

“The suspect, Meshack Sinuphro, who allegedly stole the Benz at Abuja while pretending to be a buyer, has been arrested by the Command Decoy Squad today in Benin City.

“The suspect will be transferred to the FCT Command soonest. Always report crimes to the police, and we will always deliver,” Edafe’s post read.

Seven days after Sinuphro absconded with the Mercedes Benz GLB 250 in the FCT, men of the Nigerian Police Force detailed to investigate the case recovered the stolen vehicle in the Ughelli North Local Government Area Delta State.

The owner of the vehicle, Mohammed Manga said the suspect absconded with the vehicle during a test drive.
