Two policemen have been shot dead and one injured in an attack on their checkpoint by unknown gunmen in Aba.
This incident occurred just a month after unidentified gunmen attacked a military checkpoint at Obikabia junction, killing five soldiers and burning their patrol vans.
The recent attack took place at Opobo junction, along Ikot Ekpene road, Ogbor Hill, causing panic as street traders, motorists, and shop owners fled for safety.
Minutes later, multiple patrol teams of policemen arrived at the scene, while residents deserted the area.
At the time of reporting, Abia Police spokesperson Maureen Chinaka had not responded to a text message sent to her phone.
