The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced plans to deport Ibrahim Tunde Ijaoba, a Nigerian national convicted for armed robbery and involvement in illicit drug trade.

In a notice released on Monday, ICE stated that Ijaoba is a former member of the ‘Bloods,’ a gang notorious for violent criminal activities.

The agency added that he entered the US “illegally” and accumulated convictions for several serious offenses, including aggravated assault on a police officer with a firearm and armed robbery.

“Ibrahim Tunde Ijaoba is a criminal illegal alien from Nigeria and former member of the Bloods — a notoriously violent street gang,” the statement read.

“He entered illegally and then racked up an extensive rap sheet that includes convictions for: Aggravated assault on a police officer with a firearm; assault & aggravated assault; armed robbery; obstruction; drug sales; and escaping police custody. He has a final removal order and awaits deportation in ICE custody.”

In a related case, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) recently arrested Oluwadamilola Ogooluwa Bamigboye, another Nigerian, for allegedly evading arrest and abducting an immigration officer. Bamigboye and his accomplice, Rekeya Frazier, are facing federal charges for assaulting a federal agent, and Bamigboye was additionally charged with overstaying his student visa.
