The police in Delta State have arrested Nnajiofor Nweke, a man accused of killing a teacher at Alihami Secondary School in Agbor, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The regrettable event occurred on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, following an instance of discipline aimed at the suspect’s son. The accusation was that the son had stolen palm wine.
DSP Bright Edafe, the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, revealed that the suspect’s son, along with other students, took two containers of palm wine from a local store.
The school authorities were swiftly informed of this incident, and they identified the involved students, implementing punitive actions that included physical punishment.
Upon learning about the disciplinary measures applied to his child, the suspect arrived at the school armed with a cane and proceeded to strike the teachers.
During the assault, one of the teachers fell unconscious and passed away.
Edafe wrote, “Failed parenting!!! Now turned into a murder case On October 18, 2023, the suspect Nnajiofor Nweke, a father of one student (name withheld) at Alihame Mixed secondary School Agbor, on the said date, his son, alongside other students, went to a palm wine shop and allegedly stole two kegs of palm wine.”
“The matter was reported to the school authorities, and the students were flogged. The suspect came to the school in protest with a cane and started flogging teachers.”
