NDLEA intercepts 478kg of illicit substances, apprehends 99 suspects in Kaduna

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kaduna State Command, reports having seized 478 kilograms of assorted illicit substances in November.

This information is detailed in a statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, Shuaibu Yusuf-Omale, and released to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna on Tuesday.

Yusuf-Omale outlined the confiscated substances, which included cocaine, heroin, cannabis, tramadol, methamphetamine, and various other psychotropic substances.

During the specified period, the command apprehended 90 individuals, encompassing drug traffickers, dealers, and users, according to Yusuf-Omale.

He stated, “In its efforts to combat the drug scourge in Kaduna State through the drug demand reduction activities, the command carried out numerous sensitisation programmes across the state.”

“This was with the aim of enlightening the citizenry on the ills associated with drug use and illicit trafficking.”
