The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kaduna State Command announced on Monday that it had seized 398,192kg of illicit drugs and arrested 69 suspects in the state.
The NDLEA’s State Commander, Ibrahim Braji, revealed that these seizures and arrests were conducted in September.
He also noted that among the dismantled illicit drug joints, some were located in Rigasa, Gwantu, Yankifi, Nasarawa, Television, and Romi, while others were situated in Kanti Agah, Kabala Doki, Tudun Wada, Agwa, Tirkaniya, Kakuri, Unguwar Mu’azu, and Gabari Zaria City.
In total, the 398,192 kilograms of confiscated drugs encompassed substances like Indian Hemp, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Tramadol, and various Psychotropic substances.
The NDLEA also seized crude oil concealed in three polythene bags, a locally made pistol, 14 rounds of blank ammunition, and 7.62mm live bullets during the same period. The seizures were made in various locations across the state, including Kanti Agah, Kabala Doki, Tudun Wada, Agwa, Tirkaniya, Kakuri, Unguwar Mu’azu, and Gabari Zaria City.
The NDLEA commander called on residents to provide timely and useful information to help the agency curb the use of illicit drugs in the state.
