NSCDC nab 45 alleged criminals in Kano

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has nabbed 45 alleged criminals in Kano State.

The Corps’ Public Relations Officer in the state, DSC Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, affirmed the apprehension of these individuals. In a statement delivered to the press on Friday in Kano.

He disclosed that 41 of the suspects were apprehended on October 5th around 2 a.m. by the armed squad of the corps during a night patrol in Kano metropolis.

He further clarified that the remaining four suspects were apprehended in a club house.

“Four suspected vandals were also arrested at Riga fada and Dan Maliki in Kumbotso Local Government area by personnel of Anti Vandalism Unit and local vigilante groups.

He claimed that the individuals were well-known for their involvement in vandalizing armored cables. They had a pattern of pilfering electric transformer components and causing fear among the residents of the Riga Fada neighborhood.

“The suspects vandalised N1.5 million worth of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) equipments,” Idris-Abdullahi said.

 

He stated that the suspects are currently being assessed for potential legal proceedings. He emphasized the NSCDC’s dedication to securing and safeguarding all vital national assets and infrastructure within the state.
