[PHOTO]: Troops nab two illegal ammunition suppliers, seizes weapons

Troops of the 1st Division of the Nigerian Army have nabbed two individuals who were aiding terrorists and providing them with ammunition in Awon, located in the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
This information was made known through an announcement issued by Musa Yahaya, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the Division, on Wednesday.
According to the statement, Shuaibu Lawan and Salihu Usman, both considered criminals, were apprehended in their respective residences on Tuesday. Their arrests were carried out based on intelligence gathered from a previously detained collaborator who is currently under the custody of the troops.

Recovered items consist of a homemade AK-47 rifle, two Dane guns, eight 9mm ammunition rounds, seven live cartridges, and five expended cartridge shells. These items were unearthed from their concealed location within the criminal’s residence.

The statement went on to state, “In another operation the same day, troops of the Division, while on clearance operation around Dogon daji-Saulawa general area in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, made contact with terrorists and criminal elements.”

“Troops engaged the criminals in a gun duel, forcing them to scamper in disarray due to the superior firepower of the troops. Items recovered include a G3 rifle, 16 motorcycles, two locally made guns, and a phone.”
