The Katsina State Police Command announced the death of one suspected bandit and the recovery of sixty (60) rustled sheep in addition to an AK-47 gun in Korogo village of Daddara District in Jibia Local Government Area of the state.

As the inquiry continues, one hundred and ten (110) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were also recovered.

The hoodlums, in their numbers, armed with dangerous weapons such as AK-47 rifles, were said to have invaded the village early Wednesday, shooting sporadically.

The Katsina police spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq,  in a statement, said, the command through the DPO Jibia upon receiving a report, unhesitatingly, mobilized a team of operatives to the scene and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel.

As a result, they were forced to abandon their heinous mission and scamper into the nearby bush.

“While combing the scene, the body of one (1) neutralized suspected bandit, sixty (60) rustled sheep, as well as one AK 47 rifle with one hundred and ten (110) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, were recovered. The investigation is ongoing,” he noted.
