Police begin extradition of ‘KillaBoi’ over girlfriend’s murder

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed that the extradition process has begun for an Instagram influencer, Benjamin Nnanyereugo, also known as KillaBoi, who was arrested by Sierra Leonean authorities after allegations that he murdered his late girlfriend, Augusta Osedion.

“We have commenced the extradition process to bring KillaBoi into custody in Nigeria,” Hundeyin revealed this on Saturday.

KillaBoi was nabbed at a night club in Free Town on Friday, after changing his name to Kanu Princeton Samuel, and spending over $25,000 purchasing a Sierra Leonean passport and trying to survive in the West African country known for the white-sand beaches lining the Freetown Peninsula.

Meanwhile, his photo had been posted on social media by the deceased’s family, leading a Sierra Leonean who identified him to contact popular human rights lawyer, Femi Falana SAN, who informed the Lagos Police Command that had earlier declared him wanted.

On October 11, the Lagos State Police Command declared KillaBoi wanted for miss Osedion’s death.

The police command, in a statement by its spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, last week Tuesday, had said Nnanyereugo was suspected to have murdered the 21-year-old lady on July 13, 2023, in his home at Oral Estate in the Ajah area of the state.

“Following the exhaustion of all available options to bring him in, he is declared wanted. The suspect is 26 years old, approximately 5’9 ft tall and hails from Abia State. He is dark in complexion and speaks English, Igbo and pidgin English fluently. “If seen, please contact the nearest police station or call 0803 688 5727,” the statement read in part.
