Police investigate murder of 58-year-old woman in Gombe

The Gombe State Commissioner of Police, CP Hayatu Usman, has directed that the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, personally investigate the death of Aishatu Abdullahi, a 58-year-old woman who was allegedly murdered by unknown persons on Friday.

The offenders were claimed to have stormed the late Abdullahi’s Jekadafari Quarters apartment before fleeing with her mobile.

According to a press statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar, operatives hurried to the scene where late Abdullahi was discovered in a pool of her own blood upon receiving the information.

While extending the command’s condolence to the family, the police assured that it would do everything to unravel the perpetrators.

“The command has launched a full-scale investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible for the brutal murder.

“The command extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of Aishatu Abdullahi and we want to assure the public that we are doing everything possible to apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous crime and bring them to justice. We urge anyone with information that could lead us in our investigation to come forward and give us the information.”
