Police in Anambra said they have neutralised two members of a gang that killed two police personnel on December 29, 2023.
CP Aderemi Adeoye, who shared this information with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Monday, revealed that the gang members were eliminated in a raid on their camp in Ogboji, Orumba South Local Government Area, on Sunday.
Adeoye mentioned that a 51-year-old kidnapping victim was successfully rescued during the operation, and a Lexus Jeep was also recovered.
Additionally, four Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), two pump-action guns, and 16 live cartridges were retrieved. He added that the IEDs were safely defused.
Adeoye emphasized that the pursuit of the assailants and all criminal elements within the state would persist.
He reiterated the commitment of the Anambra command to uphold security, encouraging residents and holidaymakers to carry on with their lawful activities without apprehension.
