Police nab suspected cultist for attempted felony in Ogun

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have nabbed an individual named Afolabi Taiwo in the Abioro community of Sango, situated in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state, on suspicion of an attempting to carry out a felony.

“The command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, made this information known on Friday, indicating that the incident took place on November 1, 2023, “when Afolabi jumped into the compound of the complainant in Abioro Street.”

She mentioned that the police, in collaboration with the So-Safe Corps, arrested Afolabi, “after attempting to carry out a felony.”

Odutola explained that the person who filed the complaint raised a commotion that alerted nearby residents, resulting in Afolabi’s apprehension right at the location.

“During his subsequent interrogation, Afolabi confessed to being a member of the outlawed Eiye Confraternity Cult Group. He confessed that he was initiated into the cult in 2020 in Ajah, Lagos State,” Odutola explained.

Odutola emphasized the importance of this revelation, as it enables the police to collect additional information and expedite their pursuit of other individuals implicated in Afolabi’s statement.

She praised the collaborative effort between the police and the So-Safe Corps, which led to Afolabi’s apprehension, thwarting his purported criminal endeavor.

Odutola further noted that the arrest of the suspect marks a single stride in the ongoing battle against criminal activities.
